The Brazilian metal titans Cavalera Conspiracy will make a brief stop at the Rockhal on the 30th June 2011. This concert is guaranteed to be loud and furious.
After their mind-blowing show at the Rockhal in 2008, they now return with the recently released album Blunt Force Trauma in their bag. If you liked their first CD, you are going to love this one. Although, as usual, Max pushes his voice to the utmost limit, it is really his brother Igor who provides the surprises, madly hitting the percussion perhaps rather more than need be.
Cavalera Conspiracy was created between Max and Igor, the two brothers who formed the legendary heavy metal band Sepultura as teenagers together in 1984. When Max left Sepultura, he formed Soulfly whose seven albums have gained worldwide success and acclaim. His brother stayed in Sepultura for a few more albums before quitting the group. In 2008 then the metal world was turned upside down by the formation of Cavalera Conspiracy and their debut album called Inflikted. Alongside them on this adventure: Marc Rizzo, guitarist with Soulfly and loyal friend of Max, as well as Joe Duplantier, vocalist of the French group Gojira… but confined to the bass for Cavalera!
For all the real fans out there, Cavalera Conspiracy is an established name: for everyone else the frontman of the group defines it in the following way. “Cavalera is super metal, it’s supposed to be metal, it’s not supposed to have anything else but metal and hardcore in it”.
All those who got metal flowing in their veins should highlight the 30th June 2011 to see them perform on stage at the Rockhal. Blunt Force Trauma will be released on March 27 and it is sure to set the clock back… but to Brazilian time!
